Agios Nikolaos Stegis or Saint Nicholas of the Roof is one of the oldest Churches in Cyprus dating back to the 11th Century! It is located at Kakopetria village in Troodos area.
Agios Nikolaos Stegis is not only a very old Church but also hosts some of the oldest and most important wall paintings of the Byzantine period in Cyprus! It is part of the Unesco heritage program along with other 9 Churches in the area of Troodos.
It is one of the most visited Churches of Cyprus and a destination for many locals and foreigners who wish to learn more about the history and culture of the island!
The Church is usually open all day long most days of the week.
